Intrauterine insemination (IUI) involves a laboratory procedure to separate fast moving sperm from non – moving sperm. The fast moving sperm then is placed into the woman’s womb. It can be performed either in a natural cycle or after ovarian stimulation when the woman takes fertility drugs.

Indications:
• Unexplained infertility
• Ovulation disorders
• Male impotence or premature ejaculation
• Single woman using donated sperm

It is essential that the fallopian tubes are patent and there is no significant problem with the sperm.
